The Coast Development and Empowerment Network (CODEN) is a community based organisation that seeks to build capacities that empower and improve the livehoods of communities in the six counties at the Kenyan Coast. These counties include: Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale, Lamu, Taita Taveta and Tana River Counties.
These counties have diverse communities but with overarching similar problems that hinder rural communities from occupying their economic and academic space in the national space. Currently CODEN membership consists of natives, friends from other regions including diaspora, partners who may include other organizations and corporates.
